Our Team
Dementia Waikato staff are highly qualified Registered Health Professionals, caring and knowledgeable about living well with dementia. Our Board of Trustees comprises people with a mix of professional skills and experiences of dementia that together provide a sound base for responsible and sensitive governing of Alzheimers Waikato Charitable Trust which trades as Dementia Waikato.
Staff Members
Christine comes with a business, compliance, regulatory and advocacy background. Most recently she has been an advocate for health consumers at the Health and Disability Commissioner’s office.
Christine’s understanding of disability and health consumer rights sits
perfectly alongside our ethos of putting the client first. Christine is also a qualified accountant and qualified mediator with post-graduate business qualifications. Away from work Christine enjoys training and trialling
gundogs, photography, walking, reading, and of course time with her family and grandchildren.

Trustees
Janette has integrated nursing skills with music tutoring/therapy over her life time. Over the past 17 years she has practiced nursing in a variety of settings and countries, her principal passion has been Rehabilitation. Janette currently works as a part time educator in dementia care at Tamahere Eventide Resthome, and is using Rehabilitation skills to study the positive benefits of exercise for residents with dementia. Her personal experience includes supporting her father in past years, and now her brother to live the best life possible with their dementia.
